Description
Performs venipunctures, arterial punctures, and capillary sampling to obtain blood samples for laboratory testing. Enters orders for testing and accessions specimens in the computer system.

Responsibilities
- Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Collects patient specimens competently and accurately. Supports the general operation of the Laboratory. Documents collection and processes specimens efficiently. Performs phlebotomy collections in a timely manner.
- Decision Making: Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.
- Working Relationships: Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
Skills
- Basic PC Skills. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to draw blood specimens.
